Hey there :)
Like I keep saying, I've been loving my skin lately.
Thanks to a new routine, my skin is fresh, bright and loving life at the moment!
However, I guess nothing is perfect as I still have some issues with my skin.
One of these are the visible pores and blackheads on my nose, nothing major and not noticeable with makeup on but I'd still like to see an improvement in that area.
When I was recently asked to trial the B·Liv By Cellnique Skincare system, I jumped at the chance and hoped this would be the solution to my little problem!
Read on to see how I got on......
What They Say
B-Liv aim to offer products that are able to cure even the most sensitive skin, along with all other skin types.
Formulated with powerful biological active ingredients, plant extracts, antioxidants and a bio-active delivery system, these products aim to give the best performance for visible results within 2 weeks.
What I Say
I was sent the Glow + Shine Mask, the Off With Those Heads Blackhead Sebum Gel, the Shrink + Tighten Night Complex and the Shrink + Tighten Pores Reducing Serum and couldn't wait to get started.
I apply a pump or two of the Sebum Gel to a cleansed face, it's normal for this to tingle slightly and it can make the skin slightly oilier to start with but that soon goes away.
I used the Night Complex every night after cleansing, it comes with a handy applicator making it easy to dispense a few drops onto your hands to then work into the skin.
It is a very thin formula, absorbs easily and has quite a chemical type smell.
The Glow + Shine Mask was pleasant to use, it has a great sugary sweet scent and goes on easily.
You apply a thick layer to the skin, leave for 10 mins and, during this time, the mask sinks into the skin and tightens slightly.
After 10 mins, dampen the skin and massage the mask, this makes it foam up and the little beads it contains work at exfoliating the skin.
After washing this off, my skin felt smooth and refreshed but I still prefer AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) based masks.
My favourite product was the Pores Reducing Serum, it's very watery and sinks into the skin straightway, leaving your skin silky smooth.
It also has a very pleasant citrus scent.
After using these products religiously for weeks now, I must say that I'm a little underwhelmed.
For such a complex addition to my skincare regime, I had high hopes but I just haven't noticed much of a difference.
My pores do look slightly better with makeup on but that's also after using a primer and concealer so it's hard to know which product in particular is helping.
All in all, these products just didn't fulfill their promise to me and even though I loved the Serum for nourishing my skin, I think I'll have to continue to search for my pore reducing saviour...

I haven't tried anything by this brand, but I confess - my skincare routine is not what it should be. Thanks for your review on these!

Really looks like a very good product! :)

I've tried it, and it worked okay. I think most skin care products are disappointing.

In my honest opinion, pores aren't easy to reduce. I've tried many brands and I don't think it will reduce overnight. The only way it reduces a little for me was to make be so diligent in scrubs twice a week, mask twice a week and make sure I had good moiturizer. Else my skin will think that it hasn't had enough moisture and it will produce more oil and which oozes out from the pores.
ReplyDeleteDo try Dr Murad though. I find that it works for my oily T-zone and combination skin =)
