Hey Beauties!

You guys know that I have a somewhat love/hate relationship with my hair, I like it to look big and healthy but don't want the hassle of putting lots of different products in it.
You just can't beat the look of big, voluminous locks, I instantly feel better and think I look chicer for lack of a better word.

Redken are a haircare brand that I have heard so much about but have never dabbled with them personally so I was certainly curious to see what they had to offer.
They have recently launched their *Cerafill Defy range* which is aimed toward those who want bigger tresses so I couldn't wait to try it!
Read on to see what I thought.
What They Say
If you want your hair to appear fuller and thicker then look no further than this set.
Boasting a Cerafill System Technology, the shampoo and conditioner will get to work strengthening the hair fibres to prevent breakages and energize the hair follicle.
The Dense FX Spray is a thickening treatment that nourishes the hair, increases it's diameter and is perfect for all hair types.

What I Say
Like I said, I'm a fuss-free girl when it comes to my haircare routine and I do prefer to let my hair dry naturally so was worried that I wouldn't see any effects from these as most of these volumising products need to be used in conjunction with blow drying.
I liked the packaging of them, especially the spray treatment as it has a spray pump that evenly disperses the contents instead of just soaking the individual sections of the hair.
I was pleased with the shampoo and conditioner, they did a good job of cleaning my hair and left it feeling soft and nourished but the standout product for me was the spray.
I used this on damp hair on the roots and worked it in with my fingers and then left my hair to dry naturally.
The next day I was left with noticeably bigger hair that looked full of life, I can only imagine how it would look if I blow-dried my hair!
I would definitely recommend this range to those of you that want bigger, healthy-looking hair.
Check it out guys!

Hey Beauties!

Haircare is something that I've been taking more of an interest in these days and I'm enjoying seeing the benefits of that.
When I see the shine that my hair now has, I feel determined to inject even more moisture into my tired tresses and conditioners are a great way to do this.

Treatment conditioners are one step better and something that I love to try out so when I started to trial the *treatment conditioner* from Hairy Jayne, I was full of high hopes!

What They Say
Full of rich ingredients, including silk, this can be used as either a regular conditioner or as a treatment masque.
This is all you need to quench thirsty hair!

What I Say
I like the packaging of this product and I feel like it reflects the natural nature of the brand.
The scent is quite nice, very sweet, it has a creamy consistency and also rinses out easily.
I applied this to the mid-lengths and ends of my hair and loved how the scent filled my bathroom.
After using this, my hair felt so soft and it had a lovely shine too so check it out if your hair needs a moisture boost!

Hey Beauties!

Haircare is something that seems to be very important to us girls and lately, with men taking far more pride in their appearance, the industry is starting to take note of what men want.
Due to men having slightly greasier hair, they need more specialized products and now brands everywhere are falling over themselves to offer just that.

Hairy Jayne are a haircare company that offer beautiful handmade products that I've featured here before and are the latest company to turn their attention to the male side of the market.
My boyfriend has recently been trialing the *Men's Shampoo + Conditioner* so read on to here his thoughts...

What They Say
These products, with their herbal fragrance, are free from sulfates, parabens and palm oil and are also vegan friendly.
Containing oil-controlling Aloe Vera, strengthening Panthenol and essential oils for fragrance, these products offer everything your hair could need!

What I Say
The packaging of these products is quite nice if a little awkward for travel (although you could just decant some) and the herbal scent is fresh and uplifting, perfect for a morning shower.
My boyfriend found the texture of the shampoo to be a little irritating due to it's watery consistency and it was also hard to create a lather, this is due to the absence of the usual chemical nasties so we can forgive it for that.
He did seem to prefer the conditioner though and after using it, he found his hair felt softer and more nourished than it usually would after washing.
All in all, these are good products that will look after your hair but the conditioner was definitely the standout product!
Check them out guys!

Hey Beauties!

I have had a love/hate relationship with my hair for a long time now and, I'm happy to report, that it's mainly love at the moment.
After eliminating heat from my routine over a year ago, using plenty of nourishing products and giving up the dye, my hair has had a makeover and is starting to look shiny, healthy and a world away from before.

One thing I still struggle with though is frizz, I don't know if it's because my hair is still dehydrated or what but I am getting sick of the sight of flyaways.
I feel like they totally spoil a good hair look no matter how glossy your locks may look.

Hairy Jayne are a haircare company that I have featured on here before and they have come to the rescue of us frizzy gals with some top frizz-fighting tips.

What Causes Frizz?
Summer and Winter can both be bad times of the year for frizz due to everything from heat to rain.
The first main cause is Humidity: this is the amount of water vapour in the air and also the drizzle we sometimes get.
Another reason is Hair Dryness: this is a lack of moisture inside the actual hair strand due to sun damage, too much styling/colouring or just because the hair is naturally dry.
Ever wonder why those lone white hairs stick up?
This is because white hair gets drier when it loses it's pigment, making it more prone to frizz.

How Do I Manage Frizz?
1. Shampoo less frequently, every 2 days at the most but less if you can.
If this is hard for you then try out some dry shampoo between washes or just condition every 2nd wash instead of shampoo.
2. Try air dry your hair when possible, squeeze out excess water but don't rub with the towel as this will lead to frizz.
Use a wide-toothed comb or vent brush to get rid of tangles, put in your product then shake out and go.

3. If you have to blowdry, then use a heat protector!
This barrier will prevent the hair getting dryer and it will also weather-proof it against humid conditions.
Also when blowdrying, do it in at least 2 sections (the underneath first then the top) so that the top won't get over-dry.
Always use the hair dryer on the coolest setting if you can and concentrate on getting the roots dry first.

4. If you have curly or wavy hair then use a diffuser, this will disturb your natural texture less and keep the waves/curls from breaking up and going crazy.
Use your fingers instead of a brush to twist the curls to get them to smooth out and don't brush curly hair once it's dry.

5. If you have frizzy straight hair, then make sure the nozzle is pointing downward when you blow dry, whether you're using a brush or fingers.
Use the cold blast on the dryer at the end to set the hair and get rid of any static.

6. Once your hair is dry, use a serum to get rid of any remaining frizz.
If you find serums too heavy for your hair, then try a shine spray, this is like hairspray but without the sticky hold.

7. In products, the best frizz repellants are silicones, which are found in pretty much all serums.
If they aren't for you, then anything moisturizing will do wonders and Hairy Jayne have some beauties in this department!

Any Quick Fixes For Emergencies?
If you find yourself needing to get rid of frizz quick, then try some of these:
1. Olive Oil - The tiniest bit rubbed into your fingers and smoothed over affected bits will add a moisture boost.
2. Moisturizer (same as above).
3. Vaseline type lip balm (not the waxy kind) - Not to be used all the time but ok for an emergency..
4. Dryer Sheet - This works best on straight hair, patting this on the head removes static from the hair the same as it does with clothes.

Hey Beauties!

Since I grew my hair long, I'm loving the flowy and luscious hair look and have really been looking after my hair so that I can show it off to the fullest.
One bad thing about having lots of hair is that it can get quite flat at the roots, leaving your locks looking like they need a good wash!
I love trying out hair products that promise lots of oomph and lately I've been giving the *Aussie Aussome Volume + Gloss Hairspray* a whirl!

What They Say
This product is all you need to get long-lasting volume without that sticky residue as well as a beautiful shine.
Simply spritz this from roots to tips and, before you know it, your hair will be plus size!
For added oomph, spray it onto your hair with your head upside down!

What I Say
I'm used to hairsprays having that typical chemical scent but this beauty is an exception, it has that bubblegum scent that all Aussie products seem to have.
I used this product on my roots and I instantly had plenty of volume which looked quite sexy (if I do say so myself!).
However, I did find that this made my roots slightly crispy feeling but maybe I just sprayed too close?!
I do like this product and it certainly gives volume, just make sure that you spray it a good distance from your head!
Check it out girls!

Aussie products are available from all good drugstores.

What do you think?

Any hairspray recommendations?

Stay Beautiful! xoxo
