Hey Beauties!

Another month has passed and I can't quite believe that we're in August, where has the Summer gone?!
One great thing about August though is that my birthday is this month, the 6th to be precise, and I am quite excited to say the least!

Now that the month is over, it's time for another favourites post where I tell you guys about the products that I've been loving in the month of July.
Hope you enjoy!

1. L'oreal Infallible Matte Foundation
This baby has been my go-to foundation and has reawakened my love of a good matte base, I just love how flawless it makes my face look.
I buff this into my face with a buffer brush and I find that it blends easily, has great coverage without being too thick and settles and dries down quickly.
It lasts very well on my skin and doesn't cling to my dry patches noticeably, a great base for those that want a matte finish.
Left - No Makeup. Right - Wearing this foundation.

2. Sleek Face Contour Kit
This is an oldie in my make up stash but my contouring love has made me dig it out in recent weeks and I have fallen back in love with it.
I use mainly the contour shade in this kit but the highlight isn't bad at all, I just love the cool tone of the contour powder and think it's a winner for the drugstore.
I contour everyday and love how easy this powder is to blend, it is quite pigmented so I like to add a little bit at a time and blend it out.
3. Real Techniques Buffing Brush
I love using a brush to buff in my foundation and this brush was a more recent addition to my collection, available only in the Core Collection from Real Techniques.
It's dense and super soft and does a great job of blending out my bases, I like how it's not too bulky so it's still handy to use to blend in product around my nose.
Real Techniques are a great budget brand and I have yet to try a brush from them that I haven't loved.

4 & 5. PS Love Nude Lip Liner + PS Love Nude Matte Lipstick
My last 2 favourites I use together on a daily basis and are my ultimate lip combo of recent weeks.
I am a huge fan of the Kylie Jenner lip look and have been looking for a matte nude that could be a good dupe for her shade.
The PS Love range from Primark has really impressed me, the lipstick is pigmented, creamy and not drying at all.
I like to over line my lips with the liner and find it to be creamy and not dragging on the lips like others I've tried.
Of all the favourites, these are 2 I really think you should check out if you want to embrace your inner Kylie!

So there you have my July Favourites, until next month ladies!

What do you think?

Would you like me to do a What I Got For My Birthday post?

Hey Beauties!

I've told you guys before that I have a serious foundation obsession and get so excited with every new release.
Revlon are a brand that I've never really explored before, deeming them too expensive for the drug store, but they caused a lot of hype with a particular foundation.
The Nearly Naked foundation was hailed as a great budget foundation from the brand and amazing for achieving the natural look.

Now that we're moving in Summer, I am getting more interested in the natural look so thought it was the perfect time to pick up this baby and try it out.
Read on to hear my thoughts!

What They Say
This foundation promises to be so refreshingly light, it will melt right into your skin.
It will help you to create a fresh even look while covering flaws, blending seamlessly and providing a buildable coverage.

What I Say
I like the glass bottle packaging of this foundation but would definitely have preferred if it came with a pump, it can be a little fiddly having to pour out the right amount of product.
I chose the shade Natural Beige, a nice yellow toned shade that's a good match for when I use tan and I think there is a good shade range there.
The texture is very light and slightly runny, the perfect texture for those long sunny days of Summer (I hope!) but it's hard to not pour out too much of the product due to not having a pump.
I work this into the skin with my buffing brush and find that it blends easily, it gives light to medium coverage and gives that natural glow to the skin without looking overly dewy.
This foundation lasted very well on me, I wore it for 6-8 hours and didn't set it with a powder, although I wouldn't have oily skin.
It didn't cling to my dry patches and didn't feel tight or comfortable on my skin, just a lovely lightweight feel that still let my freckles come through.
If you have blemishes or dark circles, then you will need concealer also but I would definitely recommend it to those of you that are looking for a lightweight, radiant foundation for the natural look!

Hey Beauties!

If I could give my teenage self one piece of advice, it would be...don't tweeze your own eyebrows!!
I feel like so many of us fall victim to the dreaded over-plucking and, with brows becoming a staple in the make up world again, we're pretty much screwed.
I'm sad to say my brows are quite bad and have a few sparse patches that I'm desperately trying to grow out.

Ever since Cara Delevigne burst into the modelling world with her naturally full brows, the make up world fell over itself desperately trying to recreate the look.
With bushy brows fashionable again, every make up brand started pumping out brow products like nobodies business, hoping to cash in on this latest must-have.
I for one am always eager to try out these new releases as anything that can help my brows is a winner in my book.
The latest release that I have tried out for you guys is the Brow Satin brow pencil from Maybelline so read on to hear my thoughts!

What They Say
This pencil is all you need for natural looking brows!
On one side there's a gel-pencil for filling in gaps and shaping the brow and on the other side you'll find a powder that promises to define and set the brow.

What I Say
I tend to enjoy using these double-ended brow products, they're usually really handy to pop in your bag as one of those do-it-all products.
The gel pencil is good for filling in my sparse brows, it feels comfortable on the skin without being rough and dragging, I chose the shade Dark Brown and it was a good match for my dark brows
The powder on the other side is very pleasant to use, it feels velvety soft and does a good job of making your finished brows look natural.
I was worried about how long a powder set would last on my unruly brows however and opted to use a brow gel most days instead but, if you like that natural no make up look then the powder is great to just sweep through the brows on it's own.
All in all, I really like this product and think it's a bargain at around €8 so check it out guys!

Hey Beauties!

Mascara is something that can really make a difference to your face and whatever make up look you're wearing.
Whenever I put on eyeshadow, I feel like my eyes look like little slits until I put on a few slicks of mascara.
Maybelline are a brand that are pretty much known for their mascara offerings, with everyone raving about their falsies mascara (another one on my list of things to try!).

Usually being a fan of L'oreal and Max Factor mascaras, I decided to branch out of my comfort zone and try a new brand and what better time than when Maybelline released their new mascara, the Lash Sensational.
Receiving rave reviews from bloggers everywhere, I decided to give it a try so read on to hear my thoughts!

What They Say
With the brand's first ever layer reveal brush, this brush will sweep up every lash hair so no lash is left behind.
The inner bristles capture the tiniest lashes while the outer bristles volumise the look of longer lashes.

What I Say
I like the cute pink packaging of this mascara and the brush looks great, a plastic wand with longer bristles on one side and shorter ones on the other.
The idea is that you use the shorter side first to coat the lashes and then use the longer end to add volume and drama to the lashes.
I didn't find the formula to be too wet and the smaller bristles did a great job of grabbing the lashes and it was so much easier to reach the smaller lashes in the inner corners.
I found that this mascara gave me a great amount of volume, created a curl that lasted all day and just made my eyes look beautifully framed.
It takes me a bit longer than usual to remove but I don't mind when it's such a good budget product.
Check it out guys!

Maybelline products are available from Boots, Superdrug and online here.

Hey Beauties!

I am quite the lipstick lover/hoarder and have so many shades in my collection from the palest nude to the brightest purple.
Although that doesn't mean that I don't need more!
Always a fan of new lipstick launches, I was very excited when I heard about the Collection Exclusive lipsticks from L'oreal.
When one of your favourite brands releases a new product, it's pretty exciting but when that product is inspired by celebrities then the excitement goes to that of epic proportions.

The first collection was a range of nudes inspired by the skin tone of different celebrities followed by a  red collection soon after.
I may have been a bit late picking these up but I still thought you guys might be interested in hearing my thoughts so read on!

What They Say
The nudes collection consists of 6 custom made nude shades chosen by 6 iconic L'oreal spokespersons for a naturally radiant lip colour.
The exclusive reds collection included 4 custom made, enriching matte red shades that are tailored to every skin tone.
Enriched with velvet spheres, pure pigments and jojoba oil, these mattes will leave lips feeling more hydrated after application.

What I Say
Firstly, I think we all agree that the packaging of these lipsticks is amazing, especially considering it's drug store and I love the pattern on the red lipstick.
I chose the shades inspired by Eva Longoria as my foundation tends to be quite dark when I'm tanned.
I first tried the nude shade and it felt so creamy and hydrating on the lips, a peachy nude that's perfect for the days where you have a statement eye or just want a fuss free beautiful lip colour.
The red shade is a lovely sort of burnt/terracotta style red and a shade that I don't think I have anything like already.
Being a matte shade, I was worried that it would be drying but it just glides onto the lips and feels so creamy, not drying in the slightest.
They last well throughout the day but I do like to top them up after eating and drinking, I definitely think you guys should check them out (I have my eye on Blake's Red next!).

Hey Beauties!

Primer is a product that generally gets overlooked by me, which is odd considering that I own quite a few.
I usually just feel like they add an unnecessary layer on my face and, seeing as I don't usually have a problem with make up lasting on me, I don't feel like it's an important step.

Having said that, now that we're coming into Summer, I have realised that my make up is going to fade a lot faster in the sunny weather.
With this in mind, I was more interested than usual when I heard about the latest primer release from L'oreal, one of my favourite brands.
I picked it up hoping that it could solve my make up worries so, read on to hear my thoughts!

What They Say
This silicon-based primer promises to mattify, prepare and smooth the skin.
It will glide on seamlessly while minimising the appearance of fine lines and pores, the perfect pre-foundation step!

What I Say
I like the packaging of this, the squeezy tube is handy and the nib is great for squeezing out the right amount of product.
This clear primer has a slippy silicon texture to it and I like to use it mainly on my T-zone where I can get a bit shiny on a long day.
It doesn't feel heavy on my skin at all like some primers and sinks in quickly but, if silicon doesn't agree with your skin, then I would steer clear of this formulation.
I like to apply this underneath dewy foundations on the days when I want to tone down the sheen and it works very well as it doesn't make a dewy foundation dull, it still lets some radiance come through.
I found my foundation blended well over this primer and all in all it's just a great little product and one I'll get a lot of use out of in the Summer months.
Check it out guys!

What do you think?

Are you a fan of primer?

Stay Beautiful! xoxo
