Hey there :)

I have a special treat for you guys today.....I have all the info on the brand new collection from Essence for you to feast your eyes on!
Essence have used bohemian fashion and street style as their inspiration for this collection and it just works!
They have gone with quite a retro colour palette, using rusty red, petrol, peach, grey and brown (the peach is definitely my favourite).
The duo lipstick and gloss and the nail art decoration kit are set to be the highlights of the collection.

Eyeshadow - €2.49
The three highly pigmented eyeshadows are set to stand out due to their gentle and long-lasting texture. The speckled look is sure to make these show-stoppers!

Gel Eyeliner - €3.09
Available in turquoise and grey, the gel-cream texture ensures an accurate line. The brush provided also makes this easy to apply. Create your own special eye look with this :)

Duo Lipstick + Gloss - €3.49
This is the most practical piece in the collection, a perfect combo of two textures of the same colour. The creamy lipstick can be used either on it's own or as a base for the gloss.

Multi-Colour Blush - €4.09
This blush has a soft peach base colour to give a fresh look while the flower decoration with golden shimmer gives a beautiful highlight.

Nail Polish - €2.29
Available in four retro colours, peach, rusty red, turquoise and shimmery grey. These can be used on their own or a base when combined with the nail decoration kit.

Top Coat Gel Look - €2.09
This gives your nails a popular gel-like finish and is ideal for sealing your nail creations.

Nail Art Decoration Kit - €3.09
This kit comes in 2 versions and makes it so easy to create unique designs. Get creative with either glitter, flakes or pearls.
I am so excited for this collection and can't wait to pick up some pieces :)

This collection is available nationwide from January for a limited time only!!

Hey there :)

Max Factor have just launched the new super foundation, All Day Flawless 3-In-1 and I was recently sent a bottle to review for you guys.

Max Factor have spent a long time developing this foundation to deliver a long-lasting professional finish, diminishing the need for touch-ups and preventing shine.
It made it's debut on the Valentino A/W12 runway where it delivered a ''new matte look'', perfect for those looking for a more luminous matte finish.

What They Say
This foundation has a new tri-blend formula made up of 3 elements, Primer to hold, Concealer to correct and Foundation to finish. It is flexible and breathable, ensuring a matte look that lasts all day.
The foundation primes the skin with a flexi-hold technology that creates a flexible film to provide lasting coverage. Next, the formula's Micro-Correctors provide coverage over imperfections. They absorb oil and sebum, without drying out the skin. Lastly, the foundation with SPF20 delivers an all-day high coverage matte finish.

What I Say
I had high expectations for this foundation and I must say that it certainly delivered!
I applied this with a foundation brush and a little certainly went a long way. Seeing as this foundation has a built in concealer, I didn't use my usual concealer to see if this foundation really works. I was more than happy with the result, it applied well and felt silky on the skin and certainly did a good job at covering up my dark circles. It does provide a good medium coverage and didn't feel cakey at all on my skin. It does give quite a matte finish, so if you have naturally dry skin, I would definitely recommend using a good quality moisturiser before applying the foundation. It lasted all day on my skin and gave a beautiful natural look. I recommend that you guys try it :)

Me wearing this foundation in the shade Light Ivory. (I didn't use any concealer underneath, as the foundation has one built in).

The Max Factor FaceFinity All Day Flawless 3-In-1 Foundation is available nationwide and costs €14.99.

Available in 6 shades with an SPF20, it is oil-free, dermatologically tested and suitable for sensitive skin.

Hey there :)

So I was recently sent the new lines of eyeshadows from the lovely people at Miners Cosmetics.

They have created 2 new lines of eyeshadows, Eyeshadow Solos + Eyeshadow Trios and I can't wait to show them to you guys!
Let's get started :)

The Eyeshadow Solo Collection

The Shade ''Nautical''
The Shade ''Jewel''
The Shade ''Stardust''
The Shade '' Luna''

What They Say
This is an eclectic yet essential mix of both everyday classic colour eyeshadow along with fashion inspired, intense hues.
''Luna''- A classic white shimmer. Partner with a darker hue to create the perfect smokey look.
''Stardust'' - A classic shade. A perfect base shade as well as an eye highlighter.
''Jewel'' - The deep emerald green shade has golden undertones making it a lovely twist on a smokey charcoal.
''Nautical'' - Inspired by the nautical look. This matte, navy shade is perfect to create a bold, sleek look.

What I Say
I was impressed with the quality of these shadows. I like how they have made the solo shadows more wearable with shades like Luna and Stardust (perfect highlighting colours). But they have also been bold and incorporated striking shades and the shade Jewel couldn't be more perfect for A/W!
The texture of these shadows is lovely, such a silky feeling when you put them on. They are highly pigmented but can be easily blended to give a more wearable look also. There is a little fallout with these shadows but they are definitely great for the price.

The Eyeshadow Trio Collection

The Shade ''Humbug''
 The Shade ''Stonewashed''
 The Shade ''Safari''
The Shade ''Goddess''

What They Say
This collection is specially designed to enhance beauty and create depth. Made up of 3 blendable shades, each colour is carefully selected to compliment the other.
''Goddess'' - Stunning mix of greens and beige and will give you that air of Grecian Goddess.
''Humbug'' - A contouring collection of charcoals and white. Perfect for a smokey look.
''Safari'' - A collection of gorgeous bronze and browns for a gorgeous yet natural look.
''Stonewashed'' - Inspired by stonewashed jeans, this is the must have shade for the upcoming season.

What I Say
I love that Miners have also decided to bring out a trio collection, so handy to pop into your make up bag! The shades have all been brilliantly selected to compliment each other and I love the choice of looks these shadows offer. My favourite has to be the ''Safari'' trio, so warm and it really reminds me of autumn :)
Whether you want a natural look or a striking smokey eye, these shadows do the job a treat!

The Solo Shadows are £3.49 each.
The Trio Shadows are £3.99 each.

Hey there :)

I am quite excited for this review you guys as I have finally taken a leap into the cream blush pool!
The product I'm reviewing today is the Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in 'Flushed'.

Created as part of Revlon's Spring 2012 Collection, these blushes are inspired by the ''glowing skin of a beach beauty''. They come in 3 shades, 'Flushed', 'Coral Reef' and 'Pinched'.

What They Say:
This contains photochromatic pigments that bend and reflect light to provide cheeks with a beautiful glow. It's lightweight formula gives a silky soft feel to the skin and provides buildable colour. It blends evenly over cheeks for smooth application.

What I Say:
Like I said, I've never tried a cream blush before so I was very excited to try this and loved how vibrant the blushes looked in the pots! I tried putting this on with my fingers and also with a brush and I feel like the brush worked better for me. After applying one coat of this blush, you get a very sheer hint of colour but it is very buildable (I liked putting on about 3 coats to get the look I wanted). The wear time of these blushes isn't great though so I would definitely recommend setting them with some translucent powder. I did like this blush, I felt like it gave a very natural flush of colour and felt very soft on the cheeks so I would recommend it to you guys! However, if you like your blushes to be bold and vibrant, then this may not be right for you.

Me wearing the shade 'Flushed'

Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blushes are readily available priced at about €11.

Hey there :)

Recently, I was lucky enough to be sent some items from the lovely people at Max Factor. I will be reviewing these items over the next few weeks so stay tuned!
First up, I am reviewing the new 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Mascara from their new and revamped 2000 Calorie Mascara collection.

What They Say
This mascara promises to give your lashes up to 300% volume thanks to its ultra volumising formula and thickening curled brush. With one application, this should be touch proof and budge proof for as long as you wear it. They say it should be easy to remove with eye make up remover, making it suitable for those with sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.

What I Say
I usually have quite high standards when it comes to mascara. I love my lashes to look lengthened and volumised, quite doll like really! I can safely say that I'm very pleased with this mascara. The formula is slightly wet and the curved brush makes for a great and even application, allowing you to get right into your inner lashes. It definitely gives volume and quite a lot of length, making me look instantly awake and fresh and didn't clump at all. I may not have achieved 300% more volume than my natural lashes, but I would still definitely recommend this mascara to you guys!

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curved Brush Mascara is priced at £7.99/€8.99 and is available nationwide now.

Hey there :)

So I have been meaning to do this review for so long now! Some time ago, I picked up a sample of the new YSL Touche Eclat Foundation from Brown Thomas and I was full of excitement! 20 years ago, YSL released the best-selling Touche Eclat Highlighter Pen and they have finally decided to release a foundation version!
They Say
This foundation is available in 22 shades (divided into Rose, Beige + Gold shade groups). This is the first foundation to be made up of a soft focus gel formula instead of the usual opaque powders. Opaque powders are commonly used in foundations to increase coverage but the end result can leave your make up looking like a mask! This foundation promises to give a radiant finish, brighten your complexion and smooth over any imperfections. It also claims to work well with flash photography.

I Say
I was matched to the shade BD40 and after using this foundation for some time now, I can safely say I'm very happy! Firstly, I will say that you will achieve light to medium coverage with this foundation. I think you would need quite good skin to pull this off as it doesn't provide enough coverage for blemishes. It feels lovely and weightless on the skin and blends out amazingly well. I definitely found that applying it with my fingers worked best for me and a little certainly goes a long way. It certainly leaves a radiant dewy glow on the skin, so I wouldn't recommend it to those looking for a matt finish. The only not so good thing about this is the wear time. This foundation tends to last roughly 6-8 hours on me before fading.
As you can see, my pregnancy is still causing me to get spots :(

This foundation is readily available at all counters now and retails for £28 or €38 which I think is quite reasonable for a high-end foundation.

Hey there :)

I was putting on my mascara the other day and thought what better time to take pictures and write up a review on it! I recently purchased the Lacura Volume Mascara in Aldi Supermarket (click here to read the post where I show other recent Lacura purchases). I had high hopes for this mascara as I've previously tried some of their skincare products and was very happy with them.

The first thing that attracted me to this mascara was the price :) It was only around €4 so was a bargain I couldn't pass up. On first sight, I also loved the packaging. It looks so sleek and pretty in my make up bag :) It has a large bristle wand which does help to give volume to the lashes. It also contains beeswax and wheat protein to help nourish the lashes and give volume.

Now, this is a slightly wet formula and some product can flick onto your eyelids if you're not careful when applying it. I found that it gave a lot of length to my lashes and some volume and it's also very easy to take off with a make up wipe at the end of the night. It also really separated the lashes and doesn't clump at all. Sadly, it does tend to smudge along the bottom lash line toward the end of the night.

Before mascara (and before brow threading!)

 After 1 coat of mascara

All in all, I would definitely recommend this mascara! It's great for the price, giving volume just like it says all for €4. I wouldn't recommend it if you prefer the ''spidery lash'' look or if you prefer the false lash look. I do think it's a great daytime mascara.

What do you guys think of Lacura?

Hey there :)

Now, I have always felt that well designed brows are a very important part of my daily makeup routine. After all, the brows totally frame your eyes and face so it's best to have them in tip top shape. Thankfully the lovely people at Sigma know this and have released their new Brow Design Kit to make designing your brows easy while still achieving a professional result. Having well designed brows can include a complex routine of arching, shaping + general grooming which can seem like a pretty annoying chore. But this Brow Kit contains all the tools you need in a handy little case.

The kit contains:
5 brow powder shades (Bella, Chloe, Scarlett, Natasha + Valentina)
Dual-Ended Brow Brush (E75 + E80)
Dual-Ended Brow Pencil (Medium + Dark)
Dual-Ended Brow Gel (Clear + Tinted)
Dual-Ended Highlighting Pencil (Matte + Shimmer)
Small, Medium + Large Brow Stencils
Tweezers
Scissors
Sharpener

Brow Powder Shades

The Brow Kit is available on the Sigma website for $69.

What do you guys think of Sigma?
