Review | Avène Extremely Rich Compensating Cream

Hey there :)

Now that winter is over, it's time for us to start giving our skin some tlc.

The cold weather can really damage our poor skin, so what better way to treat ourselves than by revamping our skincare regime!

To help you guys, I have a great review of a cream that is sure to provide your skin with plenty of moisturising goodness!

I was recently sent some products from the lovely people at Avène to show you guys and I'll be reviewing them in 2 separate posts.

Avène are a skincare company that deliver high quality products without testing on animals. I know you guys will love their products!

So here we go!

What They Say

This cream is designed for very dry and sensitive skin. Formulated with plant-based active ingredients, this cream replaces lipid deficiency and restores the skin's natural protective barrier. It also contains Pretocopheryl, which protects against the ageing effect of free radicals. Paraben-free, this cream nourishes and moisturises the skin, leaving it radiant and supple.

What I Say

This is the first Avène product that I've tried, so I had high expectations. Firstly, I'm a huge fan of the packaging...it looks very clean and sophisticated. It has a slightly floral scent which I like but I'm unsure if that would irritate very sensitive skin. This is definitely the thickest cream I've ever used, it feels so rich and nourishing. It comes with a small plastic spatula for an easy application. I applied it with this after cleansing and toning my skin and was very pleased with the results. Like I said, the cream is incredibly thick yet it absorbed into my skin very quickly. Afterwards, my skin felt soft, moisturised and it definitely had a radiant sheen to it. Overall, I would recommend this product to you guys as a luxury treat to use when your skin is feeling dry and tired.

This is a great review. My skin gets very dry in the winter and sometimes it gets so dry it hurts! I'm always nervous to spend money on a full-sized product before trying it out so I usually look for a sample size first. I'm not sure if we have this in the states but I will look for it. :-)
